I am about halfway through Fallout 3, I do not play that much lately, but started up again today. I think that it is a great game, so here is my review so far.

Gameplay: Outstanding. It truly is a great gameplay wise game. It boggles my ming the stuff you can do in this game. It is endless. You can steal almost everything you see, and you can hurt any living thing (besides kids I think). It is fun, and challenging.

10/10

Sound: The music is limited, and the radio isnt that great, but the sounds are great, and what you would expect. Tip: Try playing the game with the radio off. CREEPY!

9/10

Graphics: A bit slow at times, loading, but they are still great. Not Gears 2, though.

9/10

Story: Halfway through, and I am still engaged. I love it, and won't spoil it. Dialogue options make this game amazing.

10/10 (Would be 11 if not for physics)

Fun Factor: Its really fun!

10/10

OVERALL: 9.75/10

LEGENDARY!

Comments?

Sounds about right to me. Also there's an outstanding amount of replayability, new characters can change the entire game for you depending on how their stats are set and perks chosen.

I won't say legendary. The ending was disappointing to me. I enjoyed the lack of direction however and considering size, the game looks amazing.

It seemed as far as class changing that guns were guns and then there's melee. I went laser weapons on my first character and small guns on my second (only level 3) and I felt I was doing the same thing, running and shooting. Not sure what I expected.

I didn't do anywhere near enough exploring, and need to do more of that my second play through smile

Yea I explore a ton...currently my disc is unreadable even though it doesn't have a single scratch, with or without being downloaded to the HDD, guess my laser might be messing up, bout to test it with other games.

Well other games are working, guess fallout is just messing up for some reason. That sucks.

It sucks.

I find that the story for Fallout took a while to pick up. I'm a bit further now, and it's really picking up.

Edit: SPOILER!...not cool man

I enjoyed being able to drift from the story on a whim. I also enjoyed being rewarded for exploring... I just wish I did more. The story became so intense I just wanted to know what was next, finished the side quests that I had and beat the game. Then I scratched my head for awhile...

The ending was soooooooo bad.

Did you read up on the expansions, though? They sound really good, especially the Alaska one.

PS: I did sooooooo little exploring that I don't even know where you told me Dogmeat is.

Im going for my second playthrough now, going to try and do everything.

Yea I did way too little exploring as well... and I thought I did a lot... I was wrong. I've not read up on any expansions though, but it sounds interesting.

I think they were announced just a few days ago.

And I meant DLC, not expansions, but it essentially the same thing (read up on it to see.)

Interesting. I need to do another play through. I've been too caught up in CoD4 to do so though... I'm actually getting good at it surprised

Yeah, the ending is pretty bad. But I found the premise for the story pretty bad in the first place.
I mean, come on, making a purifier for water? It is possible to filter out radiation from water by letting it seep through earth! Consider this quote from a nuclear survival manual:

"Filtering through earth removes essentially all of the fallout particles and more of the dissolved radioactive material than does boiling-water distillation... In areas of heavy fallout, about 99% of the radioactivity in water could be removed by filtering it through ordinary earth."

Spoiler:

Methinks some people died for no reason in Fallout3 tongue

"And I'll go into people's houses at night and wreck up the place!"

Quote (Nixon)

Really? That's pretty cool. Kind of destroys the whole plot of Fallout 3 and all, but cool to know, next time I'm surviving a nuclear fallout I'll keep that in mind. lol

The review on NoMutantsAllowed pretty much sums up my feelings on Fallout3.

Be warned though, it is a site by bitter old-schoolers:)
