Hello my minions. :D

There is some interesting news today, so I decided to show you all.

Fans creating new HD Star Fox sequel -

"In the absence of a new Star Fox game from Nintendo themselves, some super-dedicated fans of the series have taken their stead. In what may end up being the coolest example of trademark infringement ever, a team of hardcore Star Fox lovers are creating a brand-new standalone PC game titled "Shadows of Lylat" using the Freespace Open engine"

The only thing is, they do not have Nintendo's approval, which may lead to quite a few lawsuits in the future.

A trailer is available in the link above.

Kevin Levine, the man behind the 2007 GOTY Bioshock, says new game is very ambitious. -

"While 2K Games is hard at work on BioShock 2, 2K Boston's Ken Levine has his own project. A project that he says is "more ambitious than anything we've ever done."

"I think that when we think about a project now... When we thought about this project, we accounted for the fact that hiring the staff that we needed to hire would take some time," Levine told Gamasutra."

I hope he is being truthful. Bioshock is the best game I have ever played.

And lastly, Bayoneta pushed back to 2010 -

Damn, too many games getting pushed back...:(

Anyways, hope you all have a good weekend.

Resident Evil 5
A new versus mode is now available for download on Xbox Live for 400 Microsoft Points.

There are 2 new modes, Slayers and Survivors.

In slayers you play 1v1 or 2v2 trying to see who can rack up the most points. If you die you lose points and respawn, its pretty much mercs gone versus mode.

In Survivors you play against other players directly, it can be played 1v1 or 2v2. There are creatures present, but you gain nothing from killing them. You gain points only for dealing damage to enemy players, creatures just add to the chaos.

The file is 1.86 MB. Gameplay footage can be found here.

Shadow of the Colossus

According to Sony, Shadow of the Colossus is heading to theaters. Justin Marks, director of the new Street Fighter move, Voltron, and Masters of the Universe has been hired to direct it. Lets hope its better than Street Fighter was, this game has a lot of potential to be a great movie.

Hey everyone, Laxfish here.

Haven't updated Gaming News in a while, so here we go:

North Carolina may be considering a digital download tax.

Residents of North Carolina may soon have to pay a little extra when you download a game from Steam. According to News-14 of North Carolina, they are reporting that a legislative commission is looking into modernizing the state's tax code.  This could mean language for a new sales tax on digital retailers that could bring in an additional $12 million of annual revenue.

"So if you buy a book in a bookstore, you're going to have to pay sales tax on it," said Democratic Representative Paul Luebke. "If you're downloading a book from a book seller, you should have to pay sales tax on that as well." And presumably, games as well.

New Final Fantasy XIII Trailer with Gameplay!

I will update this as soon as it is available on Game Videos.

Majesco announces PARTIAL 2009 lineup.

Major Minor's Majestic March (Wii) -- In this rhythm game from PaRappa the Rappa creator Masaya Matsura, you lead a marching band through on-rails courses using the Wii Remote like a large conductor's baton. Moving the remote up and down in-time to the music, you recruit new band members while keeping the group together and marching.

Gardening Mama (DS) -- The popular Cooking Mama get out of the kitchen and into the garden to let you raise assorted flowers and vegetables.

Our House (Wii) -- Minigames meet home improvement. Players compete against one another locally to create their dream house (Bob Villa not included).

Dawn of Heroes (DS) -- A turn based strategy game similar to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, but with a less serious tone and 3D battles.

Puffins (DS) -- A sort of linear Animal Crossing that teaches about an underappreciated bird, the Puffin.

That's the news for today, expect the Final Fantasy gameplay video tomorrow.

Have a good night.

America's Army 3
This is one of the most realistic FPS series to date. The military uses it as part of their training. No taking 50 bullets to die, or running fast after being shot in the legs like Call of Duty or other army games, this game is as real as it gets as far as games go. There's no release date yet but we'll be sure to keep you up to date on it when a release date is announced.

This is Jlance999 with your gaming news.

Starcraft II

A beta for the highly anticipated game Starcraft II has been announced to be near completion, though Blizzard still won't disclose the date. The multiplayer elements of this game are nearly complete, undergoing only finishing touches now. The alpha stage of the game already has some new core features, you can read the Starcraft 2 Alpha Guide here.

Skate 2
If you were planning to buy this game and have both a 360 and PS3, get it on the 360. This game is suffering some intense frame-rate issues on the PS3 for some reason. Maybe EA will patch the game and be able to fix it but until then its a gamble at best. The game itself however has won numerous awards for its trick system, and is one of the best skating games to date, I'll be sure to inform you if a patch is released that fixes this problem.

MK vs DC

Downloadable content for the fighting game MK vs DC is under development, according to the devs, the DLC will feature new characters, each DLC giving you one DC and one MK character. This is all that's known thus far but its always nice to know DLC is on its way, its a good sign for any game.

Resident Evil 5
A Resident Evil 5 demo has been confirmed and will be released on the PS3 on February 3nd, so 360 owners are getting to try the demo one week earlier (January 26th).

Dawn of War II
Dawn of War II now has a confirmed release date, this amazing RTS will be unleashed into stores on February 19th, I personally can't wait for this game, it looks stunning. The graphics in this game are going to require a pretty decent computer, though exact system requirements haven't been released yet. The beta for this game starts at the end of this month, this should fix most of the major bugs that are able to be found before release. The game features destructive environments, customizable units, new custom heroes that grow as you venture into more battles and the same fast paced strategy fighting as the original. There are also a few new races including the Tyranoids and improvements to the original races. The video showing off the Tyranoids is below, if you'd like to learn more about the game or watch more gameplay/development videos click here.

You can view the Tyranoid gamplay video here:

Hey guys, Jlance999 here with your gaming news.

Skate 2
EA has released a limited edition version of Skate 2. The game comes with a Control deck, as seen here:

Skate 2

This is an actual deck for skate boarding, and better yet, it only costs $84.95 US dollars for the limited edition game, the drawback being that there are not many copies. There's only 200 for the 360 version and 150 for the PS3 version, so if you want one, grab it quick.

 360 Version
 PS3 Version

Champions Online
A new gameplay video has been released for Champions Online. This video was featured on MSNBC. The game looks really good, the skills/powers are looking polished and pretty and the game is looking like it could shape up to be a really successfull MMO.

You can view the video here:
Resistance: Retribution
This psp game fills the gap between Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. The game is being developed by Sony Bend, though the original dev, Insomniac, did come up with the story for this game. This game is going to be one of the biggest titles for 09, using the PSP Plus, you will be able to hook up your PS3 controller to the psp to play this game, when doing so though, due to the hightened control over your aim, the difficulty is increased. This game also features inter-connectability, with your psp linked to your PS3 and Resistance 2 is running you will unlock an infected mode, a few alterations in the story, and new weapons for the campaign.

Fear 2

A new game play video has been released for Fear 2, I personally can't wait to play this game, it looks amazing. The site is having embedding problems do to bandwidth problems but I found a video showing off what the game looks like, you can watch it below or watch the full 10 minute video here.

You can view the video here:

Mass Effect

For all of you who haven't bought Mass Effect yet (including me), there is a great deal coming up. A 2 - disc special edition is being released at Gamestop on February 10th of this year. The first disc is the game and the second is full of documentaries, game trailers, design galleries, music, and last but not least, the Bring Down the Sky DLC. All of this at a bargain of $19.99 US dollars! If your interested you can pre-order it here to ensure you get one and its at this great price.
