Starcraft II  A beta for the highly anticipated game Starcraft II has been announced to be near completion, though Blizzard still won't disclose the date. The multiplayer elements of this game are nearly complete, undergoing only finishing touches now. The alpha stage of the game already has some new core features, you can read the Starcraft 2 Alpha Guide here. Skate 2 If you were planning to buy this game and have both a 360 and PS3, get it on the 360. This game is suffering some intense frame-rate issues on the PS3 for some reason. Maybe EA will patch the game and be able to fix it but until then its a gamble at best. The game itself however has won numerous awards for its trick system, and is one of the best skating games to date, I'll be sure to inform you if a patch is released that fixes this problem. MK vs DC Downloadable content for the fighting game MK vs DC is under development, according to the devs, the DLC will feature new characters, each DLC giving you one DC and one MK character. This is all that's known thus far but its always nice to know DLC is on its way, its a good sign for any game. Resident Evil 5 A Resident Evil 5 demo has been confirmed and will be released on the PS3 on February 3nd, so 360 owners are getting to try the demo one week earlier (January 26th). Dawn of War II Dawn of War II now has a confirmed release date, this amazing RTS will be unleashed into stores on February 19th, I personally can't wait for this game, it looks stunning. The graphics in this game are going to require a pretty decent computer, though exact system requirements haven't been released yet. The beta for this game starts at the end of this month, this should fix most of the major bugs that are able to be found before release. The game features destructive environments, customizable units, new custom heroes that grow as you venture into more battles and the same fast paced strategy fighting as the original. There are also a few new races including the Tyranoids and improvements to the original races. Hey, Laxfish here with an update on the news: Final Fantasy XIII Demo in Japan
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, as you may know, is being released this Spring in Japan, and it has been said today that it will be April 16th. It will be released in three versions: the movie alone (about $54 USD), the movie with the Trial Version of Final Fantasy XIII (about $65 USD), and a version with a Cloud Black 160 GB PS3 (about $550 USD). The demo will be around 2 hours long, a huge amount of gameplay for a demo.

Skate 2 EA has released a limited edition version of Skate 2. The game comes with a Control deck, as seen here:  This is an actual deck for skate boarding, and better yet, it only costs $84.95 US dollars for the limited edition game, the drawback being that there are not many copies. There's only 200 for the 360 version and 150 for the PS3 version, so if you want one, grab it quick. 360 Version PS3 Version Champions Online A new gameplay video has been released for Champions Online. This video was featured on MSNBC. The game looks really good, the skills/powers are looking polished and pretty and the game is looking like it could shape up to be a really successfull MMO. The game is being developed by Sony Bend, though the original dev, Insomniac, did come up with the story for this game. This game is going to be one of the biggest titles for 09, using the PSP Plus, you will be able to hook up your PS3 controller to the psp to play this game, when doing so though, due to the hightened control over your aim, the difficulty is increased. This game also features inter-connectability, with your psp linked to your PS3 and Resistance 2 is running you will unlock an infected mode, a few alterations in the story, and new weapons for the campaign. Fear 2 A new game play video has been released for Fear 2, I personally can't wait to play this game, it looks amazing. You can view the video here: Mass Effect For all of you who haven't bought Mass Effect yet (including me), there is a great deal coming up. A 2 - disc special edition is being released at Gamestop on February 10th of this year. Today was not too busy in the gaming world, so here we go:
Circuit City shutting down in America.
Circuit Cities across America are shutting down, going out of business. It was the 2nd largest electronics retailer in America, and over 30,000 employees are losing their jobs.
On the bright side, they will still be functioning in Canada, but all the best goes out towards those who lost their jobs because of this.
Killzone 2 demo arriving on PSN on February 26
For those of you who did not preorder Killzone 2, you can grab the Killzone 2 demo the day before it releases, February 26th.
For those of you who have little patience, though, the demo could be yours, if you preorder the game, on February 2nd.
Gears of War 2 surpasses 4 million sales.
Gears of War 2, the apocalyptic third person shooter from Epic Games, has surpassed 4 million copies sold.
This news was delivered by Epic Games, who also said that this pace far exceeds that of the first game.
It is said that Gears 2 will soon surpass the original's 5 million copies sold in no time.

Mass Effect 2 This morning EA confirmed to VideoGamer.com that Mass Effect 2 is in the works. Bioware intends to make this game a trilogy. So far there are next to no details about this game, including what platforms it will be released for, but at least we know we can look forward to it. 505 Games 505 Games has announced that it will be releasing a new survival horror game titled Crysostasis, a fast paced fps titled NecroVisioN, and Men of War, a World War II strategy game on February 20th of this year. //Jlance999 This is Jlance999 back with more news! Resident Evil 5 On Friday, January 16th a high definition trailer, shown only once before on a Japanese game show, will be released for download on XboxLive. God of War 3 According to a few reliable sources core development of God of War 3 is done! The game is shaping up and will be released in 2010. First of all, some Nintendo DS news!
It has been found out that Nintendo put out a patent for a "motion sensing DS card".
It has been speculated that this may just either be for a game, such as
Kirby's Tilt and Tumble for GBA, or may be a new update for the DS.
Next, the Nintendo DSi, which is a DS update that is smaller and
includes a camera as well as internal memory for downloadable games,
has been rumoured to be releasing this Spring. The DSi is speculated to
be released on April 4th, at the price of $179.99 US. This rumour has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo of America.
Let's move on to other platforms now.

The first is a clip on the development of Final Fantasy XIII, with commentary by the makers. The only problem being it is in Japanese.
The second is a little article on the new Mario and Luigi RPG for the DS. I am sorry, but this info made me laugh pretty hard. Check it out.

This is Laxfish, bringing you the lastest in game news.
But first, I must tell you that I have not posted news in a while for the simple reason that we did not have any posting members for a small period there.
Here is today's gaming news, according to 1up.com.
1) Fallout 3 Gameplay Patch.
Bethesda released a patch today for Fallout 3, and it fixed quite a bit on it.
The list includes fixing most of the ways the game can crash, many glitches and bugs, and other important things.
2) Castle Crashers DLC tomorrow.
The Behemoth is releasing DLC for their XBLA game Castle Crashers tomorrow.
It will cost 160 MS Points, and will feature at least 2 new characters, more weapons, and more to be reveiled tomorrow.

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming game DC Universe Online for the PC and Playstation 3. In this trailer they go in depth about character customization and show a sample of the gameplay. In DC Universe Online you aren't playing AS the comic book superheros like superman and the like, but you are within their universe. The point of the game is for you to create your own superhero, either based on other superheros or just a hero that you've dreampt up. This game is going to be an MMO, and by the looks of it, could turn out to be one of the first successfull console MMO's thus far.

Sorry for not posting some news recently, I just have had a pretty tough week at school, with big projects and such.
Anyways, anyone catch the Spike TV Video Game Awards last night?
Here are the winners and nominees below:
Anyways, I watched about half of it on Spike Tv, and I must say it was very bad.
The only good part was Jack Black as the host.
Also, if you watched it online like a friend of mine, he told me that the camera man was brutal and was concentrating on the women of the show.
